My Homemade Mash Recipe

This is my famous homemade mash that I make whenever I feel like it. This is one of my favorite comfort foods because it has everything I like: t’s chunky, nutritious, and delicious! It’s also easy to have variations if you so choose.

Recipe:

Ingredients:
  • 2-3 potatoes
  • Half a stick of butter
  • A pinch of salt

Directions:

First, get a bowl and place your potatoes next to the area where you’ll be working. You can either use your hands or get your husband for the next part. I asked my sonny boy Hunter to help me with this part.

With your strong man, or strong hands, smash those tatoes! Once they are all smashed and smooth, you can scrape it off or your working area. But before you scrape it off of your working table, make sure to grab your bowl and place it underneath the working area so that the tatoes will land inside the bowl. (Roseanna didn’t do this part properly and it landed on Dalton’s head and into his mouth, just where he was waiting for a snack!)

After that, mix in the pinch of salt and the butter. Personally, I like to add in the butter when its cold that the mashed potatoes are chunky and separated from the butter. Some like to melt it but it really depends on the situation! I would also recommend adding some fresh herbs from the garden too!

NOTE: Since its Christmas soon and you’re lookin for some festivity, I reccomend finding a deer or animal with antlers of some kind and shave em so its a garnish on your potatoes. The dogs love it, my boy Hunter loves it, and its a great source of protein according to myself!

Hope you enjoy!
